CranioSacral Therapy ~ SomatoEmotional Release

What to Expect - Craniosacral Therapy

Do I have to disrobe for CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral work is done best when the client is fully clothed, in loose-fitting and comfortable clothing. You may request an additional sheet or blanket for added warmth or comfort at any time.

What do I have to do during a CranioSacral Session?

Your job as the client is to relax and create a gentle awareness around your body and mind as the session proceeds. I may ask from time to time what sensations you are feeling in your body, or perhaps what is running through your mind at that moment. Throughout the session, please let me know if you need additional blankets or supports, need to use the bathroom or if at any time you're feeling uncomfortable. All requests are valid within ethical boundaries.

What does CranioSacral Therapy feel like?

While on the table you may experience a sense of deep relaxation throughout your body. You may also notice a warm feeling within the tissues whether or not they are being attended to at the moment. Some clients report more awareness on seemingly unconnected parts of the body, some clients express emotional release as tissues and experiences are freed from the body. Whatever your experience, it is completely individual to you and your unique self. All that occurs within each session stay within the confines of the treatment room.

What can I expect after CranioSacral Therapy?

After your session has ended you may find a sense of relaxation or energy or a combination of the two! You may notice new sensations arising in your body as either a release effect or an uncovering of a new layer of injury or trauma. Some clients have noted improved sleep, digestion, stress management and overall wellbeing as a result of CranioSacral Therapy.

What can I do between CranioSacral sessions?

Between your scheduled appointments, notice what changes may have occurred from your treatment. Be aware of your current and past habits like sleep, digestion and mood, and just notice whatever has or has not changed. CranioSacral Therapy can access layers of injuries and traumas and your feedback about your experiences between our sessions is always helpful when moving toward your best self!
